In Matthew 3:17 God says about Jesus, “This is my beloved Son in Whom I am well pleased.” God is well pleased with us and loves us just as we are, not based on our performance or what we can do. He delights in simply being with us and there is nothing we can do to remove our guilt and shame except for simply being with Him.
